Have you seen Pizza Hut’s latest advertisement about their “Ten Dollar Any Pizza Deal” and spent parts of the day afterwards absent-mindedly singing “Hey you!/ na na na na na naaa…”? If the answer is yes, then that means the song, “Hey You” by Printz Board stuck to you.

Selected from over a thousand pop hits considered for use in the commercial, “Hey You” eventually won out giving Printz Board, who is actually a Grammy award-winning music producer, another accomplishment to his already impressive resume.

The song, which is actually also part of the upcoming debut solo album of Printz Board titled Board Games, melds perfectly with the approach of the advertisement. It has an engaging, yet steady beat to it that helps keep together the message of the commercial at a cool, comfortable pace. With the sample of the song firmly planted in the background of the thirty-seconder, the Pizza Hut commercial does not sound like it is overselling the service, yet at the same time, it does not sound like it is merely bragging about the promo. The timely cueing in of the “hey you’s” after the announcer delivers the question to the audience also seems to subliminally reinforce the message it is trying to get across.

Judging from some of the responses of users who viewed the ad on YouTube, Printz Board’s Pizza Hut commercial seems to be catching on with the patrons of the brand.

“That song in the background is fresh,” writes a Jeff Logan on the comments section.

“I love the background music …really cool!!! HEY YOU,” says a Printz Board fan who goes by the name, Ute Reese.

The next time this song suddenly pops into your head and you end up getting yourself some Pizza Hut, that’s probably because Printz Board’s “Hey You” made you do it.

For the most part of his illustrious career as a music producer, Printz Board has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry. His clientele is a festival-worthy one that includes Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and Natasha Bedingfield, as well as luminaries such as Dr. Dre and the late Michael Jackson. He is also known as one of the driving forces behind the Black Eyed Peas, having co-written songs with the band since its inception and winning several Grammy’s for his work with them. There is no other way of putting it: Printz Board as a music producer is larger than life.

What people may overlook after glancing at the credentials of Printz Board however, is the fact that he is an immensely talented musician. From the keyboards to the bass, down to the trumpet, Printz Board can hold his own at virtually any instrument he gets his hands on.

These things about the man make his decision to jump out of the backroom to become a solo artist unsurprising.

“It’s time for Printz Board. It’s time to show the world… ‘me’,” says Printz.

He’s showing the world alright, and he is rising fast up the ranks. Armed with his potent mix of danceable tunes that incorporate elements from soul, funk, R & B to hip hop, Printz Board as an indie artist is hard at work promoting his music and turning heads all around the US owing to his engaging live sets. The music video for his debut single “#1” premiered on MTV Buzzworthy and mtvU some months back and on VEVO more recently to a positive reception from audiences. He is in a solid position at this point and is continuously generating a lot of buzz heading into Spring 2014, during which he will release his first EP “Board Games.”

With all these in tow, it’s not hard to imagine that Printz Board can be larger than life too.

After years of collaborating with hit makers such as Katy Perry, Sheryl Crow, and working closely with the Black Eyed Peas, Grammy award-winning producer Printz Board is all but ready to step out of the shadows to, in his words, “be the frontman of (his) own thing.” Anticipation is mounting as the Spring 2014 release of his debut EP Board Games draws near. The recent release of the advance single “#1” by Printz Board and the subsequent publication of its music video only adds up to the hype he is generating.

The first single “#1” is, as described on MTV Buzzworthy, a love song with a twist. Simply put, #1 is a tale of the persona in the song who, in search of the one, has various quirky encounters with the ladies along the way. This rollercoaster ride of a track proves to be a strong debut single for Printz Board, thanks to its infectious hooks and sick beat.

Its music video only adds more kick to the already catchy tune. Shot entirely at 1 Big Stage studios in Los Angeles, California, it is a well-thought out back-to-basics work. Instead of relying heavily on post-production digital magic, the team behind the #1 music video, Beets and Produce, opted for a mostly organic setup to come up with what Printz Board describes as a “fun… makeshift world.” A simple setup that makes use of a white background, a few colorful cardboard cutouts (including some that read #1), a crew of backup dancers dressed in blue coveralls, and a smoking main girl in Jennifer Rodriguez is all it took to bring visual life into the song.

“I have all these favorite videos – classic videos…and I can actually have one for me,” says Printz.

The #1 music video debuted on MTV Buzzworthy and mtvU earlier this year. It also made its debut on VEVO more recently.

Click on the video above to check out the music video for #1.

Candy Dulfer, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, Natasha Bedingfield, and so many other top artists have Printz Board in their list of commons. Printz has been the man behind some of their musical successes either as a producer or songwriter. Let’s take a quick look behind what made him what he is today.

Kids will usually take the opportunity to go outside and play, but this concept of playing had a different meaning for Printz. As a child, his mother and grandmother would have him sit in front of an organ and play music, and he was satisfied by doing just that. Music has always been a part of Printz’s life and his love of playing the trumpet at an early age brought him to discover the other side of music. It carried on when he worked with the Black Eyed Peas, while handling his production company Beets and Produce, and when creating music for other artists.

Now he has decided to focus on his own music and creating his own sound. He is releasing his debut album Board Games in Spring 2014. Until the official release of his first album, he has been keeping himself busy. In fact, his song “#1” got featured on VEVO and his other song “Hey You” was featured in a Pizza Hut commercial. It doesn’t stop there as he wants to continue discovering new ways of delivering his life story though music. He’ll be keeping his music fresh, edgy, and spicy.

“Now I wanna be the front man of my own thing…” – Printz Board

Aspiring musicians know just how challenging it is sometimes to come up with good music – a sound that will not only make people stop and listen, but potentially love it. It would be pure luck if they could actually even manage to get a Grammy or two for their efforts.

Well for those of you who are just starting out as a musician or a songwriter, you might get a tip or two from Printz Board himself. Our boy, Printz shared his experiences and insights on the creative process during a discussion with Dave Pensado on his weekly show, Pensado’s Place. Pensado is a Grammy-winning veteran sound mixing engineer with years of experience working with top artists like Beyonce, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera.

Printz Board’s songwriting process usually starts with the chord – either on the piano or guitar – then the vocal. But if it’s a club music that he’s writing, he usually starts with the drum beats. When he goes clubbing, he takes all the emotions and energy from that experience and make something out of it. The melody just comes out after that.

What comes out as a result is a sound that he confidently feels as good music. He usually just trusts his instincts about what he’s written. For the detailed discussion on it, check out the video below. You can just jump to 18:01 of the video.

When you put a trumpet player and a saxophonist in a music studio, expect them to come up with something that is both amazing and unique. That is just what happened when Printz Board collaborated with smooth jazz saxophonist, Candy Dulfer. Dulfer is an internationally acclaimed Dutch musician who founded her own band Funky Stuff when she was only fourteen.

Our man Printz Board produced/co-produced Dulfer’s 2012 album, Crazy and even wrote/co-wrote ten tracks in her CD. His contribution did not stop there. He also provided the vocals in these ten tracks including the infectious, “Crazy.”

In “Crazy,” you can hear Dulfer’s mastery with the saxophone combined with Printz’s infusion of funky beats. The result is an intense, soulful beat that will surely excite even the non-jazz fans.

Ever wonder what goes on during Printz Board’s typical day? Well here’s your chance to catch a glimpse of what this upcoming solo artist do on a daily basis. Stereotude, one of the leading online sources today for news about the music industry, did a piece on him recently. We’d say this was the closest thing that one could ever get in becoming a Printz Board groupie as the reporter from Stereotude followed him around throughout the day to chronicle our man’s daily activities.

Here’s a concise version of what transpires when you hang around with a very busy man like Printz Board:

The day starts with Printz Board checking his emails, after which he prepares and eats a simple breakfast consisting of eggs, toast, and fruits.

Printz Board starts working shortly after, dedicating the morning to a few side projects he’s currently busy with. The rest of the morning he spends reading messages and taking calls from other artists and music producers and discussing possible collaboration with them.

Boxing training sessions at Pullman’s gym in Burbank follows at noon, which lasts about less than an hour. Then he goes home to shower and spends some quality time with his mom.

The afternoon he spends with his bandmates performing live, on-air shows like what he recently did at KIIS FM, as well as doing interviews.

Evenings are about band rehearsals and meeting with a few friends and fellow artists, followed by a late dinner. Printz then goes home, chats with his mom about his day, then returns to his computer to do more work.

Sounds hectic, huh? Read the full version of it here.

Who couldn’t forget the song, “Abracadabra” when they were a child? The catchy beat of this 80’s tune would surely want to make you sing along and dance to it. This classic Steve Miller song has been covered many times before by several artists like Sugar Ray and Mike Chapman. However, Printz Board has put a new twist to it and came up with something that he can call his own.

Printz Board’s “Abracadabra” retained that same quality of the song and gave it the proper tribute it deserved. Listening to the song, you would notice some modern touch added to it, like the synthesized, auto-tune quality you can hear in the background as well as some high-octane drum beats. His rap also blended well in the song and you can feel the rhythm all throughout. It just wants to make you stand up and groove to the music!

If you haven’t seen its music video yet, check it out below!
